Industries and use cases

When creating a business, choose the group that best describes how it sells. Finta.no uses this choice to adapt the language, setup suggestions, products or services, and customer journey.

Prerequisites

  • You know the business’s main offering and how customers normally buy or book.
  • If the business already exists, you need administrator access to review or change its industry.

What you will learn

  • the difference between Finta.no’s four industry groups
  • the specific types of business suited to each group
  • how the industry affects the setup and customer journey
  • what to do when a business fits more than one group

Finta.no has four high-level setups: Food service, Salon, Retail, and Services. The businesses below are examples within these groups, not separate system modes.

If the business fits more than one industry

Choose the group that covers its most important customer journey:

The business mainly does thisChoose
Sells food and drink, with a menu or tablesFood service
Sells scheduled treatments performed by employeesSalon
Sells physical goods with variants or stockRetail
Sells projects, packages, consultations, or quotesServices

You can still activate relevant apps for other needs. For example, a café can sell goods, and a shop can offer consultations. The industry primarily determines the default setup and language.

Check the industry in Finta Business

  1. Select the correct business under My businesses.
  2. Open the business profile or industry setting.
  3. Check that the selected industry describes the main type of sale.
  4. Save a change only after you have considered its effect on products, bookings, and the public customer journey.
  5. Check the menu and public page afterward.

Changing the industry for an active business may change names, recommended apps, and the customer journey. Test the entire flow before publishing new links.
